Ouch First Aid Kit

Ouch

Ouch is a portable first aid kit designed for everyday use. The hexagonal box is made from 60 lb recycled paper, which is lightweight and easy to carry. The container is divided into three compartments that follow three steps of use: cleaning and disinfecting the wound, applying treatment, and bandaging. Essential medical items are sorted and arranged with step-by-step directions. The box opens from the middle of the front surface, which saves time compared with a square box or a zipper. The aim is to let people without medical training act correctly in an emergency.

Ouch First Aid Kit by Xiaofei Liu was highlighted as an outstanding illustration of communication design by the A' Design Awards. Ouch First Aid Kit won the Silver A' Design Award in Packaging Design in 2020. The A' Packaging Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design competition which rewards outstanding design of bottles, boxes, cans, pouches, tubes, cartons, wrappers, bags and more.
