Yong Quan
Yong Quan is a public park created on the site of a former sugar factory. The park covers 22672 square meters and keeps the traces of the old factory railway. A circular trail surrounds a central lake that follows the route of the former main railway line. An observation deck extends from Fuxing Road Bridge toward the lake, and an elevated wooden deck reaches an island. A wide square beside the main factory building can hold a large crowd. Springs and gravel layers feed the lake, which supports aquatic plants and water birds.
Yong Quan Public Park by Hsu Fu Chu was identified as an innovative illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Yong Quan Public Park received the Golden A' Design Award in Urban Planning and Urban Design in 2020. The A' City Planning and Urban Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design award which rewards superior design of masterplans, zoning proposals, infrastructure designs, landscape blueprints, public space concepts, urban renewal projects, transit oriented developments, sustainable city designs and more.
