Kun
Kun is the interior design of a hotel in a tourist area of Taichung, Taiwan, with a total floor area of 5620 square meters. The design gives special attention to the arcade aisle that leads to the parking lot and connects the ground floor with the first floor. The arches are formed with iron pipes fixed under the reinforced concrete ceiling at different slopes and angles. Light projected from the floor creates layers of light and shadow. The aim is to turn parking, a common difficulty in the area, into a calm and pleasant arrival.
Kun Hotel by Han Lu was identified as a creative representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Kun Hotel received the Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2020. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design award that recognizes outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
