KT 5G
KT 5G is a group of outdoor sculptures installed in central Seoul, South Korea. The sculptures express the main features of a 5G communication service, which are high speed, low latency and wide connectivity. Bright colors, patterns and arrow shapes represent connectivity, speed and data flow, while drones and autonomous driving refer to familiar uses of the technology. The sculptures are made of steel plates that were bent and welded, then finished with urethane paint. Smaller sculptures also serve as benches, so the installation forms an artistic resting place along a busy walking route.
KT 5G Sculpture Symbolizing by TIST was identified as a grand illustration of communication design by the A' Design Award. KT 5G Sculpture Symbolizing earned the Silver A' Design Award in Fine Arts and Art Installation Design in 2020. The A' Fine Arts and Art Installation Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design award that rewards exceptional design of sculptures, paintings, installations, photographs, drawings, mixed media works, ceramics, art objects, craftworks and more.
