Sierra Cantabria
Sierra Cantabria is a label design for a family of wines produced by a traditional Spanish winery. The range is wide, so the labels share one visual language while keeping subtle differences between the bottles. Heraldic symbols used by the family for 150 years are combined with a clear hierarchy of typographic elements. The system creates 53 label combinations for Bordeaux and Burgundy bottles. Each label is printed on cotton paper with high relief, stamping and varnish strokes. The intent is a classic and expressive range with a consistent brand image.
Sierra Cantabria Wine Family by Estudio Maba was recognized as a creative illustration of communication design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Sierra Cantabria Wine Family was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in Packaging Design in 2020. The A' Packaging Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design recognition program which rewards exceptional design of bottles, boxes, cans, pouches, tubes, cartons, wrappers, bags and more.
