Umami Luring
Umami Luring is a hotpot restaurant located on a corner in a downtown area. The interior covers 251.23 square meters and combines classical elements with modern techniques. Customized semicircle tiles, made by a local tile kiln factory, cover the left facade and the glass surfaces of the first floor. The tiles recall the image of a warm pot and also screen the view of the parking lot across the street, so dining privacy is improved. The second floor is furnished with fish shaped bamboo chandeliers, bamboo trays and a bamboo screen. A long central table seats individual guests.
Umami Luring Restaurant by JOYE CHUANG has been recognized as an innovative illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Umami Luring Restaurant earned the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2021. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design prize that honors superior design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
