The Tree
This house is a prototype for a residential complex aimed to accommodate young families. It is designed to symbolize the tree. A tree that grows and continues to spread its roots down the earth and its branches up in the air. It's the symbol of a family. It's obvious that this house structure is growing the same as the tree structure. The stem of the tree is the core of the house which in this case is the stairs. The stairs that shape its journey. A journey from the bottom the entrance level to the top the roof garden. With all spaces cantilevered out of the core.
The Tree Residential House by Adel Badrawy was highlighted as an outstanding example of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. The Tree Residential House won the Bronze A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2022. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design recognition program which celebrates outstanding design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
