The Gatherings
The Gatherings is a residential interior design for a three-generation family of eight in Hsinchu city, Taiwan. The home covers about 198 square meters and includes an entrance, living room, dining room, kitchen, balcony, eight bedrooms and four bathrooms. The layout and circulation follow traditional Chinese Feng Shui principles and the daily habits of each family member. Marble, wooden metal, imported Italian metal sheets and titanium-plated metal shape the shared areas. Hidden doors and smart devices in the main rooms improve function and reduce energy waste.
The Gatherings Residence by DECO Design was recognized as an outstanding representation of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. The Gatherings Residence earned the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2021. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design recognition program which celebrates exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
