Renata-A
Renata-A is a shampoo bottle designed for a hair care brand. The bottle body is made with a bio-based material produced from discarded tea stems collected from tea farmers in Taiwan. The material replaces 40 percent of petrochemical plastic and helps reduce carbon emissions. The bottle is as durable as conventional plastic containers, can be recycled and does not release toxic substances into the soil after incineration. The packaging holds a shampoo made with Chinese herbal extracts, and the design reflects the theme of regeneration.
Renata-A Shampoo by Hou, Hsiao Che has been identified as an innovative illustration of communication design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Renata-A Shampoo earned the Silver A' Design Award in Packaging Design in 2021. The A' Packaging Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design accolade that rewards superior design of bottles, boxes, cans, pouches, tubes, cartons, wrappers, bags and more.
