Omi
Omi is a modular sweeping robot designed for outdoor cleaning work. The robot is built on a movable body that carries six interchangeable modules: disinfection, vacuuming, sweeping, stagnant water treatment, guardrail cleaning and water jet washing. Modules are fitted by hand using side armrests or by magnetic mounts, and indicator lights guide correct installation. During work, Omi follows the sanitation worker automatically within a set area. The design aims to reduce heavy manual labour and to improve working conditions in sunny and rainy weather.
Omi Modular Sweeping Robot by Wang Yili was highlighted as an outstanding example of service design by the A' Design Award. Omi Modular Sweeping Robot earned the Bronze A' Design Award in Robotics, Automaton and Automation Design in 2021. The A' Robotics, Automaton and Automation Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design recognition program that recognizes outstanding design of industrial robots, medical robots, agricultural robots, domestic robots, autonomous vehicles, humanoid robots, telepresence robots, underwater robots and more.
