JF Modern
Yinchuan Jianfa Modern City is a shopping mall renovation in Yinchuan, China. The project updates a commercial building that has operated for ten years, following the concept of urban regeneration. The facade is formed with aluminum plates in a hyperboloid shape, inspired by pyramid forms shaped by wind and sand. Low emissivity glass is used to improve energy efficiency. A vertical facade system follows the rhythm of the original structure. A courtyard, a skylight and a roof garden guide pedestrian flow from the main street to the upper level.
JF Modern Shopping Mall by LnP Architects was highlighted as a creative illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. JF Modern Shopping Mall won the Bronze A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2021. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design accolade that celebrates outstanding design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
