Burgu
Burgu is a height adjustable seat designed for spaces such as bars and barber shops. The height adjustment gear is supported by four separate legs instead of a single central hub, so the whole mechanism stays visible. The seat and the gear are made of laminated solid wood, and the lamination prevents deformation and extends the service life. The legs and the gear are shaped on five axis machines for high precision. A large gear diameter and a thick thread allow the height to be adjusted quickly and steadily while seated.
Burgu Stool by Metin Nergiz was featured as a grand illustration of industrial design by the A' Design Award. Burgu Stool earned the Silver A' Design Award in Furniture Design in 2021. The A' Furniture Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design recognition program which recognizes exceptional design of chairs, tables, sofas, beds, cabinets, shelves, desks, wardrobes and more.
