Talking Peppers
Talking Peppers is a black and white art photograph from the series Nus Nous. The image shows peppers recorded in close-up, yet many viewers see human bodies or parts of them. When the print is rotated, the imagined forms disappear and other shapes may be seen instead. The photograph is taken with a large format optical bench camera and microscope optics at very small apertures, which gives a shallow depth of field. The negative is printed by hand on cotton-backed paper and toned with selenium for long durability.
Talking Peppers Art Photography by Giuseppe Persia has been recognized as an innovative illustration of communication design by the A' Design Awards. Talking Peppers Art Photography received the Silver A' Design Award in Photography and Photo Manipulation Design in 2021. The A' Photography and Photo Manipulation Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design accolade that celebrates excellent design of portraits, landscapes, still lifes, photojournalism, fashion shots, architectural images, wildlife captures, sports events and more.
