Mercury
Mercury is a hotel garden designed for the entrance area of a hotel on the coral coast of Kish Island, beside the Persian Gulf. The garden covers 1200 square meters. The forms are taken from the underwater world, in particular the corals and fish seen along the coast. Different lighting is applied on each side and angle to create contrast. At night, the illuminated coral garden recalls the bioluminescent coastal creatures of the Persian Gulf. The aim is to bring a sense of sea calm into the space of the hotel.
Mercury Hotel Garden by Peyman Kiani Falavarjani has been selected as an innovative illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Mercury Hotel Garden won the Silver A' Design Award in Landscape Planning and Garden Design in 2021. The A' Landscape Planning and Garden Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design award which celebrates excellent design of landscape designs, public parks, residential gardens, urban plazas, campus designs, green roofs, waterfront developments, Eco-Parks, botanical gardens and more.
