Light and Shadow
Light and Shadow is a residential interior design of about 139 square meters in Hsinchu City, Taiwan. The layout includes an entrance, a living room, a dining room, a changing room, one bedroom and two bathrooms. Open planning replaces solid walls, so the spaces remain continuous. Materials include steel brushed veneer, titanium plate, natural stone, marble, glass and warm wood flooring. The main television wall is built from stone blocks, with a mirror below that extends the view. Low-chroma colors and layered lighting shape the interior.
Light and Shadow Residential House by CHIU CHIEN-WEI was recognized as a grand representation of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Light and Shadow Residential House was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2021. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design accolade which recognizes outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
