Selfportrait
Self Portrait is an office interior located in a 30-year-old mixed-use residential and commercial building in Taichung City, Taiwan. The layout follows the concept of one room, one space, one object, so all spatial elements are connected. The kitchen is treated as a solid cube placed in the middle of the plan. A continuous curved cabinet forms a wall for storing books, leather tools and materials. Gray and white surfaces dominate, with wooden plywood at the kitchen. Part of the ceiling is pushed upward to soften the light and reduce the feeling of pressure.
Selfportrait Office by YUNG-EN LIN has been selected as an innovative illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Selfportrait Office was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2021. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design award that rewards exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
