Rong
Rong is an art gallery interior divided into a main building and an auxiliary building. The original architectural structure was respected, and damaged wooden columns, beams and brackets were repaired. The wood was cleaned and scraped by hand to keep the mottled texture of the logs. In the negotiation area, a screen of hand polished metal pieces forms mountain shapes. A glazed enamel screen in the courtyard revives a traditional craft. Layered lighting, flower arrangements and a tea tasting area create a calm atmosphere that unfolds as visitors walk through the space.
Rong Art Gallery by Song Han has been recognized as a creative example of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Rong Art Gallery was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2021. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a highly prestigious international design competition that celebrates outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
