Shine City
Shine City is a sales center in Chengdu, China, with an area of 1000 square meters. The interior design draws on the aesthetics of the Song Dynasty, a period associated with simple forms, plain colors and plain textures. Silk, used as a painting surface before paper, is the main design reference. Tawny wire glass screens are arranged in arrays to imitate the texture of silk. An installed art lamp recalls the cracked surface of Song Dynasty porcelain. Blank space and restrained detail create a calm and poetic atmosphere.
Shine City Sales Center by Kris Lin has been highlighted as a grand example of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Shine City Sales Center earned the Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2021. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design recognition program which celebrates excellent design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
