Honeycomb
Honeycomb is a modular unmanned aerial vehicle designed to perform several tasks. The frame has a hexagonal shape, inspired by a bee honeycomb, and can be expanded by adding more units. Functional modules for fire protection, public announcement, seeding, ultraviolet sterilization, spraying and delivery are held in the middle of the frame by strong magnets. A larger number of modules increases the carrying capacity. A built-in Bluetooth connection allows the position to be monitored. The drone measures 815 mm long, 815 mm wide and 363 mm high.
Honeycomb Modular Multifunctional Drone by Mingxi Li was featured as a creative illustration of service design by the A' Design Awards. Honeycomb Modular Multifunctional Drone received the Silver A' Design Award in Robotics, Automaton and Automation Design in 2021. The A' Robotics, Automaton and Automation Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design prize that recognizes excellent design of industrial robots, medical robots, agricultural robots, domestic robots, autonomous vehicles, humanoid robots, telepresence robots, underwater robots and more.
