Toughness and Gentleness
Toughness and Gentleness is a residential interior design of 82.6 square meters completed in Hsinchu, Taiwan. The open plan joins the living room, the bar, the dining room and the study, and the zones are distinguished by materials, colors and flooring. The television wall is made of one large piece of imported thin marble tile without seams, and eco-friendly Lotos plaster is applied to the corridor walls. Black, white and grey tones are combined with warm light strips, mirrored surfaces and glass to create a calm and spacious atmosphere.
Toughness and Gentleness Residence by Jia Ru Chen was highlighted as an innovative illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Toughness and Gentleness Residence earned the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2021. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design prize which honors exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
