Wuhan Diary
Wuhan Diary is a visual diary about daily life in Wuhan during the pandemic. The project uses programming to build terrain-based visual languages from collected public opinions and confirmed case data. Colour and the density of rolling mountain forms express the social environment and the changing mood of each period. A three-dimensional earth shape was built from parameterised data in Unity. Wuhan Diary is presented as a poster of 420 by 594 millimetres, together with motion graphics, augmented reality and interactive projection.
Wuhan Diary Visual Diary by Yu Chen was selected as an exceptional representation of communication design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Wuhan Diary Visual Diary was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design in 2021. The A' Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design prize which rewards outstanding design of logos, posters, infographics, brochures, packaging designs, business cards, book covers, billboards and more.
