Butchart Gardens Preschool
Butchart Gardens Preschool is an early education interior located in New Taipei City, Taiwan. The name refers to a Canadian garden, and the design combines Japanese and Italian garden elements. Gardens, castles, trees and stones are translated into shapes suited to children. Wood surfaces and white finishes create a warm and calm setting. Soft arcs form the walls and conceal the existing beams and columns. Partitions were removed and glass was added to improve light and openness. Solid wood, curved metal molds and fiber cement boards were used.
Butchart Gardens Preschool Kindergarten by Creep Design has been highlighted as a grand illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Butchart Gardens Preschool Kindergarten received the Golden A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2021. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design accolade that recognizes outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
