Nantong Window
Nantong Window is an architectural lighting design for a cultural complex with a library, a cultural centre and archives. The lighting follows the building concept of birds and sea. Linear luminaires are placed inside the folded perforated aluminium curtain wall, so the light passes through the feather-like openings. Underground lamps with a colour temperature of 3000K illuminate the orange inner wall and ceiling. Luminaire positions and angles are calculated so that no lamp surface is visible from inside or outside. A DMX512 control system allows dynamic change of the facade.
Nantong Window Cultural Center by Tongji Architectural Design (Group) Co., Ltd has been highlighted as an exceptional representation of industrial design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Nantong Window Cultural Center won the Silver A' Design Award in Lighting Products and Fixtures Design in 2021. The A' Lighting Products and Fixtures Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design accolade that celebrates excellent design of chandeliers, pendant lights, wall sconces, table lamps, floor lamps, outdoor lights, recessed lights, track lights and more.
