Gait Analysis Robot
Gait Analysis Robot is a medical measurement system for walking motion analysis. The robot carries three-dimensional cameras and follows a subject at a fixed distance. The subject walks back and forth along a flat straight line of ten meters, such as a hospital corridor. The recorded data is sent to a cloud server and analyzed there. The accuracy is comparable to optical motion analysis systems used in research institutes. The aim is to make gait analysis widely available at low cost and to support early detection of diseases, rehabilitation and health maintenance.
Gait Analysis Robot Medical Health Measurement System by Anri Sugihara has been identified as a grand illustration of industrial design by the A' Design Awards. Gait Analysis Robot Medical Health Measurement System won the Golden A' Design Award in Medical Devices and Medical Equipment Design in 2021. The A' Medical Devices and Medical Equipment Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design award that rewards excellent design of stethoscopes, wheelchairs, defibrillators, MRI machines, surgical instruments, prosthetics, ultrasound devices, pacemakers and more.
