Aurotek Technology
Aurotek Technology is a factory building located in Kunshan, Jiangsu, China. The 10344 square meter plant houses a mechanical assembly workshop, a clean room and supporting offices. The exterior is built from locally produced concrete hollow bricks and glass, arranged to form a breathable skin that provides natural lighting and self-shading. Buoyant ventilation windows increase natural air convection, and a green atrium moderates the indoor microclimate. Computational fluid dynamics was used to study ventilation. The design follows the three-star Chinese green building standard.
Aurotek Technology Factory by Peng Architects Inc. was identified as an innovative example of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Aurotek Technology Factory was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2021. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design prize which rewards outstanding design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
