X House
X House is a residential building set in a mixed forest within the city of Kharkiv, Ukraine. Respect for the site and preservation of the existing green spaces guided the design and the construction. Large areas of panoramic glazing connect the interior with the surrounding trees, making nature an accent of the living space. Cantilevered roof projections and second floor terraces are made of reinforced concrete and form broken lines around the main volume. The exterior uses porcelain stoneware, metal, wood and fiber-cement panels. The total area is 460 square meters.
X House Residential Building by EgoHouse Architects was recognized as an outstanding representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. X House Residential Building earned the Bronze A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2021. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design recognition program which honors excellent design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
