Falcon
Falcon is a compact mobile robot designed for the inspection of false ceilings. False ceilings are often dark, damp and hard to reach, which makes manual inspection difficult. Falcon measures 200 by 160 by 75 millimeters and weighs 800 grams, so it can move through narrow spaces. Cameras at the front, left, right and top, together with built-in lighting and height sensors, provide real time images and data. The robot is guided through a wireless application and can return to its upright position after toppling. The aim is to monitor false ceilings and control rodent activity.
Falcon False Ceiling Inspection Robot by ROAR Lab was highlighted as a creative illustration of service design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Falcon False Ceiling Inspection Robot earned the Iron A' Design Award in Robotics, Automaton and Automation Design in 2021. The A' Robotics, Automaton and Automation Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design recognition program that rewards exceptional design of industrial robots, medical robots, agricultural robots, domestic robots, autonomous vehicles, humanoid robots, telepresence robots, underwater robots and more.
