Inner Emotional Home
Inner Emotional Home is a residential interior design for a 280 square meter duplex apartment in Shanghai. The project remodels an old house and seeks a balance between contemporary elements and retro styles. The original closed staircase was replaced with a suspended staircase. The yard, living room, dining room, kitchen, tearoom and second floor are connected, so movement routes are more fluent and the space feels more open. The dining area combines kitchen, breakfast table, dining room and tearoom in one place. The intent is a calm and warm home.
Inner Emotional Home Residence by Zhuangzhi Liu was highlighted as an innovative example of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Inner Emotional Home Residence was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2021. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design accolade which celebrates exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
