Pop Star
Pop Star is an art installation and view platform based on the geometric shape of the icosahedron. The work is built as a steel structure measuring 15000 mm in each direction. The form is derived from the compound eye of an insect, enlarged to a scale beyond normal human visual reading. Visitors can enter the central area and look out over the surrounding fields. From the outside the volume appears solid and imposing, while the inner space feels quiet and enclosed. Pop Star was designed in Beijing in 2019 and completed in Shanghai in 2020.
Pop Star View Platform by Li Hao has been featured as a grand illustration of communication design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Pop Star View Platform won the Golden A' Design Award in Fine Arts and Art Installation Design in 2021. The A' Fine Arts and Art Installation Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design award that recognizes excellent design of sculptures, paintings, installations, photographs, drawings, mixed media works, ceramics, art objects, craftworks and more.
