Fruitfulness
Fruitfulness is a light installation created for a lantern festival in Taichung, Taiwan. The main structure is a field-shaped stacked frame built from solid willow cedar posts. Seven fruit-shaped lamp clusters are formed from thinly sliced willow cedar, bent by hand. The base is a square shallow water tray covered with black pebbles, and the water reflects the lit form above. Traditional tongue and groove joints and snap-on hardware are used instead of nails. The work can be fully disassembled and returned to the soil after the exhibition.
Fruitfulness Lighting Art by doT & associates was selected as an exceptional example of industrial design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Fruitfulness Lighting Art won the Iron A' Design Award in Lighting Products and Fixtures Design in 2022. The A' Lighting Products and Fixtures Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design recognition program which recognizes outstanding design of chandeliers, pendant lights, wall sconces, table lamps, floor lamps, outdoor lights, recessed lights, track lights and more.
