Frame of Color
Frame of Color is a residential interior design completed in Taiwan. The design outlines the frame of the furniture with color blocks inspired by the space pop art style of the 1970s. In the dining area and the living room, black, yellow and blue valchromat forms the key visual element. The walls and ceiling are painted pure white to act as a canvas, and the facade that meets the ceiling is curved for consistency. Seamless matte flooring extends through the home, and bright marble frames the entry. Blank spaces are left so that attention falls on the classic retro furniture.
Frame of Color Residential by Wen-Chau Chen was identified as a creative representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Frame of Color Residential was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2022. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design recognition program that rewards exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
