Beginning of The Time
Beginning of the Time is a residential lobby interior completed in October 2020 in Taichung, Taiwan. The space covers 6611.6 square meters. Walls and floors are paved with grey marble whose texture recalls the sky, clouds and mountains, with darker stone patterns inlaid in the middle. Two interlaced slopes of scenic stone form the service counter of the lobby. The main wall behind is made of antique facing stone, and the corridor pillars are clad in ink-sprayed landscape stone. A large amount of natural light is introduced, and the unified colour scheme keeps the space calm.
Beginning of The Time Hospitality Space by Li-Ling Chang was recognized as an innovative illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Beginning of The Time Hospitality Space received the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2022. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design competition that recognizes superior design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
