PeriO
PeriO is a multifunctional drawing compass used to draw circles, arcs and straight lines. The radius is set by moving the two sides and is shown on a central disc. A silicone holder in the middle accepts pens of different sizes. The rotation of the wheels measures the length of a drawn line and the angle of an arc. When the angle between the two sides is 180 degrees, the drawn line is straight. The central disc can be rotated so that circles are drawn smoothly. The shell is made of aluminium to reduce weight, and no sharp point is needed.
PeriO Multifunctional Compass by Huiqi Jia has been identified as an exceptional representation of industrial design by the A' Design Awards. PeriO Multifunctional Compass was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Art and Stationery Supplies Design in 2022. The A' Art and Stationery Supplies Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design competition that rewards outstanding design of brushes, paints, sketchbooks, pencils, pastels, easels, canvases, markers and more.
