Auspicious Beast
Auspicious Beast is a series of hand-painted graphic patterns for consumer products. The series presents four auspicious creatures from Chinese tradition: carp, crane, lion, and kylin, which represent fortune, longevity, safety, and good luck. Each pattern joins traditional motifs with modern elements. Rich colors taken from the dyes of traditional Chinese painting shape every animal image. Vigorous calligraphy written in black ink accompanies the patterns. The series aims to renew attention to traditional Chinese culture and to share positive wishes.
Auspicious Beast Patterns by Guangzhou Kemei Commodity Co., Ltd. has been recognized as an exceptional illustration of communication design by the A' Design Award. Auspicious Beast Patterns won the Bronze A' Design Award in Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design in 2022. The A' Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design recognition program which celebrates exceptional design of logos, posters, infographics, brochures, packaging designs, business cards, book covers, billboards and more.
