The Chasing of the Sunlight

The Chasing of the Sunlight is a residential interior design for a single-story home of about 27 square meters. The compact plan holds two bedrooms and a dining area for three to four people. Complex lines and purely decorative forms were avoided. The ceiling, floor and walls follow quiet dark and light gray tones with light wood. Indoor walls are finished with a trowelled concrete-effect coating, and waterproof wood flooring is used. Glass sliding doors and curtains replace solid walls, so light and shadow pass through the open layout.

The Chasing of the Sunlight Interior Design by Chen, Kuan-Chiao was selected as a grand example of architectural design by the A' Design Award. The Chasing of the Sunlight Interior Design won the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2022. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design competition that recognizes outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
