Dream Builder
Dream Builder is the headquarters and factory of a cold chain company in Chiayi City, Taiwan. The design follows Bauhaus ideas of function, simple geometry and honest materials. Large external iron frames are stacked with a semi-modular method to form colorful volumes inspired by logistics packaging boxes. Stone, architectural concrete, unpainted wood panels and ground concrete floors are combined in a base tone of gray. Interior walls show herringbone wood grain, and the lighting is arranged to change the appearance through the day.
Dream Builder Commercial Space by Michael Tu was recognized as an exceptional example of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Dream Builder Commercial Space earned the Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2022. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design recognition program which recognizes superior design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
