Disappeared Manufacturing
Disappeared Manufacturing is a sales centre built in Banqiao District, New Taipei City, Taiwan. The design is based on traditional Taiwanese houses, reinterpreted with a steel structure, glass and metal roof panels. A central courtyard with a skylight is surrounded by showrooms, exhibition areas and a coffee shop. Window grilles, shaped with computer controlled metal lathes, divide the spaces on each floor. A mezzanine platform between two floors allows several events at the same time. Workshops, exhibitions and cultural activities are held in the building.
Disappeared Manufacturing Sales Centre by Wey-Duan Luo, Tzu-Ping Chan has been identified as a creative representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Disappeared Manufacturing Sales Centre was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2022. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design recognition program that honors exceptional design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
