Orbit A Collection
Orbit A Collection is a series of handcrafted jewelry that includes a brooch and two necklaces. Each piece is one of a kind and combines sterling silver with plastic tubes, resin clay and paint. The same plastic component is repeated as a basic module to create varied wearable and sculptural forms. Traditional metalsmithing methods such as soldering, forming and chain making are used, together with plastic welding, sanding and coloring. The collection reflects the relationship between traditional craft and modern mass production.
Orbit A Collection Jewelry by Suyu Chen has been recognized as a creative example of fashion design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Orbit A Collection Jewelry was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in Jewelry Design in 2022. The A' Jewelry Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design award that rewards superior design of rings, necklaces, bracelets, earrings, brooches, pendants, cufflinks, anklets and more.
