Flora
Flora is a computer generated animated film created to present a multifunctional sofa inspired by blooming flowers. The film shows the design elements, functional features, craftsmanship and materials of the sofa. Artistic deconstruction, picture composition, lighting and theme design are used to present the product from many angles and to convey its aesthetic value. All elements are modeled in three dimensions, animated in Cinema 4D and rendered with Redshift, while the final composition is made in Adobe After Effects. The film is delivered in Full HD at 25 frames per second.
Flora Multifunctional Sofa by Hesu Dong has been identified as a grand illustration of communication design by the A' Design Awards. Flora Multifunctional Sofa received the Iron A' Design Award in Movie, Video and Animation Design in 2022. The A' Movie, Video and Animation Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design competition which rewards outstanding design of feature films, short films, documentaries, animations, music videos, experimental films, commercials, trailers and more.
