The Gaiety
The Gaiety is a sales center built in Foshan, Guangdong Province, China. The main building covers 500 square meters and is shaped by three-dimensional folding techniques. The roof is folded so that the northwest corner drops to form a double-sloping roof, while the northeast corner rises to mark the hall entrance. Stone curtain walls are combined with glass curtain walls, and the roof marble is beveled so that roof and wall read as one surface. A water surface reflects the building, and the divided blocks form a courtyard that separates two functions.
The Gaiety Sales Center by Hao Meng was highlighted as an innovative representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. The Gaiety Sales Center earned the Silver A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2022. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is a highly prestigious international design recognition program that rewards excellent design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
