Grayscale Shadows
Grayscale Shadows is a residential interior design for a house of 392 square meters in Taipei City, Taiwan. The layout includes a living room, a dining room, four bedrooms and two bathrooms. Neutral grayscale tones and hand-painted wall finishes give the rooms a calm and rustic character. Wood, white tones, dark gray shades, iron and glass are combined throughout. Floor-to-ceiling windows bring in daylight and open the interior to the surrounding trees. A screen of slim iron pieces and glass film lets light pass while keeping privacy.
Grayscale Shadows Residential House by Chih Wen Mau has been selected as a grand representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Grayscale Shadows Residential House won the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2022. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design prize which rewards outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
