High Hopes
High Hopes is a residential villa built on a hillside in Chadegan, Isfahan, Iran. The design expresses three times: past, present and future. The plan follows lines drawn from the Zayandeh River, while the volume joins a mountain form with an Iranian arch. Algorithmic methods were used to respond to sun, wind, rain, snow and slope. Canopies, tall windows and a glass atrium bring daylight inside and support natural ventilation. Brick, concrete, ICF blocks and mineral coatings reduce energy use by up to 70 percent and improve earthquake resistance.
High Hopes Residential Villa by Mahyar Arab BourBour has been recognized as an exceptional illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. High Hopes Residential Villa won the Bronze A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2022. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design competition that celebrates outstanding design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
