Ruelle
Ruelle is a three-dimensional visualization of an old alley in the historic medina of Tunis. The scene was created to capture the atmosphere of the old city center, using a real alley as the reference. All models and textures were made manually from scratch, supported by scans of real surfaces. The irregular shapes, worn materials and decayed surfaces formed the main technical challenge. The geometry was lit and rendered with a physically based render engine, and the still images were produced at 4K resolution.
Ruelle 3D Visualization by Amir Cherni has been recognized as a grand illustration of communication design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Ruelle 3D Visualization earned the Silver A' Design Award in Computer Graphics, 3D Modeling, Texturing, and Rendering Design in 2022. The A' Computer Graphics, 3D Modeling, Texturing, and Rendering Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design recognition program that honors exceptional design of animations, simulations, game designs, virtual reality models, architectural renderings, infographics, digital illustrations, 3D character models and more.
