Paper Plane
Paper Plane is a residential interior design for a small apartment of 43 square meters in New Taipei City. The high area above the entrance ceiling is turned into vertical storage, which helps keep the small home tidy. The public area of 16 square meters includes a dining table, a living room, a study and an exercise space. Folding hidden tables allow the dining and exercise functions to share one place. Eco-friendly plywood is processed in the factory to reduce waste and dust on site. An irregular tilting veneer ceiling and a gentle color palette shape the space.
Paper Plane Residence by Hsiang-Chen Lu was identified as an exceptional representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Paper Plane Residence won the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2022. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a highly prestigious international design competition that honors excellent design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
