Wyndham Grand Plaza Shuangyue Bay
Wyndham Grand Plaza is a resort hotel located in Shuangyue Bay, southern China, where two crescent-shaped beaches face the sea. The design consists of three guestroom towers with smooth wavy facades that recall waves reaching the shore. Almost all rooms look towards the ocean and include long balconies and a jacuzzi. Lower buildings near the beach echo the scale of the nearby fishing village. A large semi-transparent canopy links the towers to swimming pools, restaurants and bars, while a central axis leads from the entrance plaza to the beach.
Wyndham Grand Plaza Shuangyue Bay Hotel by He Wang and Hancui Lu has been highlighted as an outstanding example of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Wyndham Grand Plaza Shuangyue Bay Hotel was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2022. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design competition which rewards excellent design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
