Owndays
Owndays is a residential interior design for an old apartment in Taipei, Taiwan. The home covers about 82 square meters and holds one living room, three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen and a laundry balcony. The design is inspired by the exoskeleton of a rhinoceros. Protruding shapes on the main facade are reduced, which improves safety for children. Large areas of artificial leather and wall covering are divided by titanium-plated metal lines. Doors and separate functions are hidden along these dividing lines, so each space reads as a complete surface.
Owndays Interior Design by Chen Wei Chun has been featured as an innovative example of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Owndays Interior Design won the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2022. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design prize that rewards outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
