Across
Across is a poster created for a digital art festival dedicated to the rock art of the Helan Mountains in China. The poster is printed on lenticular material. One image shows the original Helan Mountain motif and the other shows a modern digital version of the same motif. As the viewing angle changes, the ancient motif fades and the digital motif appears. The traditional image was painted with a mixture of ink, tea, gelatine and gold powder, applied by splashing to create a texture similar to rock. Across aims to preserve and share an endangered ancient culture.
Across poster by Yilin Wang has been identified as a grand illustration of communication design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Across poster was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design in 2022. The A' Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design recognition program which rewards outstanding design of logos, posters, infographics, brochures, packaging designs, business cards, book covers, billboards and more.
