Panda
Panda is a modular climbing wall system designed for children to use at home. The system has three parts: a customized wooden wall frame, interchangeable handhold modules, and interactive projection. Each handhold module measures 192 by 172 by 100 millimeters and has an ABS plastic shell, with handholds available in wood or fiberglass. The modules attach to the frame with a movable block, so positions can be changed quickly. Children play by touching the projection or the handholds, which respond with sound, light or movement. The design aims to keep children interested in indoor climbing.
Panda Modular Climbing Wall by Zheng Xu has been selected as a grand illustration of industrial design by the A' Design Award. Panda Modular Climbing Wall was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Sporting Goods, Fitness and Recreation Equipment Design in 2022. The A' Sporting Goods, Fitness and Recreation Equipment Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design accolade which recognizes excellent design of basketballs, tennis rackets, yoga mats, running shoes, dumbbells, bicycles, boxing gloves, swim goggles and more.
