Depois de Waldemar Cordeiro
Depois de Waldemar Cordeiro is a lamp inspired by a floor lamp made by a Brazilian artist in about 1955. The only surviving record of the original lamp is a small newspaper photograph. The lamp was recreated with contemporary materials and techniques. The structure is made of solid aluminum shaped by computer controlled machines and finished with electrostatic painting. A single 4W LED light source creates a range of shades, from dark gray to pure white, through internal reflections and the different distances between the source and the white rings.
Depois de Waldemar Cordeiro Lamp by Álvaro Wolmer was selected as a creative illustration of industrial design by the A' Design Awards. Depois de Waldemar Cordeiro Lamp received the Silver A' Design Award in Lighting Products and Fixtures Design in 2022. The A' Lighting Products and Fixtures Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design competition which honors outstanding design of chandeliers, pendant lights, wall sconces, table lamps, floor lamps, outdoor lights, recessed lights, track lights and more.
