Gong
Gong is a bar cabinet designed for residential interiors. Two sliding doors are made of handmade palisander wood marquetry. The doors open to reveal three wooden shelves, dimmable lighting and a mirrored back panel. A tempered glass shelf at the base acts as a structural element that improves stability and adds storage space. The structure and the handles are made of solid brass profiles, oxidized to a medium bronze finish. The cabinet takes its name and its inspiration from the gong, a traditional symbol of wealth and strength in Far East culture.
Gong Bar Cabinet by Eva Szumilas was identified as a creative illustration of communication design by the A' Design Awards. Gong Bar Cabinet won the Silver A' Design Award in Limited Edition and Custom Design in 2022. The A' Limited Edition and Custom Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design competition which honors excellent design of limited edition products, bespoke watches, custom furniture, bespoke jewelry, personalized fashion collections, modified automobiles, made to order products and more.
